Award-winning TiMax TrackerD4 makes light work of synchronising the movement of performers, scenography and even audience members to a show's supporting technical production elements. This significantly reduces cast and tech rehearsal times, adding a compelling budgetary ROI advantage to a production or venue alongside the huge creative freedom of live stagetracking.
TiMax Tracker stagetracking technologies have led the way in live audio spatialisation and media control for over a decade, alongside the unrivalled TiMax SoundHub spatial audio platform. The latest generation "D4" brings new levels of tracking precision, consistency, robustness and scaleability to shows, events and experiences. TiMax TrackerD4 also controls third party audio and media platforms such as Soundscape, L'ISA, SPAT, SpacemapGo, ETC Eos and disguise, as well as the inimitable TiMax SoundHub spatial audio processor.
The TiMax TrackerD4 ecosystem comprises TTd4 Sensor RF receivers distributed around a space, miniature transmitting TTd4 Tags worn by performers or other mobile subjects, a POE timing hub to power the Sensors and also sync and collect the tracking data, all managed by a portable or rackmount Location Engine Server which outputs OSC or PosiStageNet control data for live spatial audio, media and lighting control.
Coming soon is the powerful TiMax TrackerSP advanced lighting and media control support for TiMax TrackerD4 to expand on the existing 3D xyz OSC and PosiStageNet outputs, adding multi-universe networked ArtNet and sACN for live animation and intelligent control of moving-head lighting fixtures, with a portal to StagePrecision camera and media virtual production protocols.
Tracking analysis of the D4's dual-mode UWB signal is distributed between the Sensors and the Location Engine Server, with intelligent error correction and filtering taking place automatically. The Location Engine app quickly auto-calibrates the Sensors to map the space in 3D after entering a few simple xyz co-ordinates. Sophisticated built-in analysis tools allow logging and review of QoS to optimise performance, especially vital in increasingly crowded RF environments.
Location Engine live tracking data feeds into a Tracker Translate app which handles Tag management and OSC or PosiStageNet control distribution to one or more peripherals such as TiMax SoundHub, DS100, disguise etc. Tracker Translate includes Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Tag groups for backups or multiple act changeovers, with global or individual Smoothing and Capture tools to precisely optimise tracking stability.
Only two TTd4 Sensors need to see a TTd4 Tag for consistent stagetracking to occur to sub-10cm accuracy, so multiple Sensors, typically six or eight, are placed around the performance space to deliver robust redundancy. Tags and Sensors are all fully weatherproofed, in fact the occasional TTd4 Tag has gone through a complete costume wash and spin cycle and still come out working. Coupled with up to one year's Tag battery life and a clever magnetic on/off switch trick, TiMax TrackerD4 is elegantly simple to deploy and manage in both permanent and temporary installations.
